Hello, my name is Todd Hammer, and I'm an artist in Cardiff by the Sea, CA. You might also know me as, T. Hammer. I enjoy painting landscapes, many of them from the surrounding areas. I love using a touch of surrealism in my paintings to give them a little pop. Most of my paintings are bright and cheerful to help brighten one's day. I typically use acrylic paints, because they dry so fast.  

I grew up just outside of Memphis, TN, where I had an amazing childhood. I started drawing when I was about nine years old, sketching Disney characters to pass the time away on a rainy day. I would much rather draw than read a book. In high school, I took my first real art class and I bloomed a little. My teacher entered a few of my pieces in some local contests. They won locally and went to the regional finals. Unfortunately, sports and academics pushed art to the side for the rest of my high school career.

When college came along, even though I wanted to go to an Art College, I decided on an education instead. I received a Bachelor's Degree of Science with a major in Economics and a minor in Art. I really learned a lot about art in college and developed a stronger bond with it.

Although I have a minor in art, I am a self-taught painter. I have never had any paintings in a gallery, but I've had several events. I paint for myself, for my family, and for others to enjoy. I hope that you enjoy my art!!!!  "Every time you pick up the brush, you get a little bit better."
